After wrapping up Thy Will Be Done by JBStar Productions, I found myself with a yearning for my next project. Acting has always been my passion, and with each role, I feel the need to push my boundaries and showcase the depth of my abilities. Fragments of Her is the result of that drive—a short film that captures where I am right now as an actress and serves as a reflection of the talent I’m continuously working to refine.
The inspiration for Fragments of Her stemmed from my desire to showcase my versatility and express the raw, honest emotions that lie within all of us. I wanted to create a film that feels deeply personal yet universally relatable, highlighting the layers that make us human—resilience, strength, vulnerability, and transformation. With each scene, the character evolves, revealing different aspects of herself that resonate with the experiences many of us face.
This project also serves as an opportunity for me to assess my craft and receive invaluable feedback. My goal is to use Fragments of Her as a learning tool, to grow as an artist by seeking advice from industry experts, taking classes, and sharpening my skills. I want to explore my range and identify where I can enhance my abilities so that I’m fully prepared for my next role.
Creating Fragments of Her was an enriching experience that pushed me in ways I hadn’t anticipated. As both the actress and director, I had to approach the film from multiple perspectives, ensuring that each scene not only portrayed the character’s emotional depth but also remained cohesive in its storytelling.
I had the pleasure of collaborating with a talented up-and-coming iPhone videographer, Shawt Tyler, who owns Shorts by Shawt Visualz. Shawt brought his keen eye for detail and dynamic style to the project, capturing each scene with precision and artistry. He also edited the footage, turning raw moments into a cohesive, compelling story that aligned perfectly with my vision. Working with him allowed for a fresh, modern perspective, and I’m grateful for the creativity and passion he brought to the project.
My ultimate goal for Fragments of Her is to use it as a platform to showcase my talent and where I currently stand as an actress. This film will be featured on my acting profiles, allowing casting agents to see my range and versatility in hopes of opening up opportunities for upcoming films, TV roles, and commercial work. It’s my way of putting myself out there, demonstrating my commitment to my craft, and growing within this ever-evolving industry.
I also plan to submit Fragments of Her to various film festivals, connecting with fellow creatives and industry professionals who can provide insights and feedback. It’s all about continuous growth—elevating my skills and finding ways to enhance my presence in the industry.
